This competition encouraged students aged 11-19 to communicate the science behind the Survival Rivals kits in a creative way. To enter schools needed to conduct the experiments, then make films or take photographs of their results, showing how they brought science to life.
First prize
In October 2010 the winning team followed Darwin’s footsteps on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Galapagos Islands.
Runner-up prizes
Students from the runner-up schools received a film-making workshop, along with £650 of film-making equipment. See their films on the Sci-Cast website
